AA Energywise Rally 2010
The art of the fill...
Toyota has returned to the AA Energywise Rally in 2010 to showcase its expanded hybrid range and latest hybrid technology.

Toyota have entered two of the latest 3rd generation Prius, the new Camry Hybrid and the Lexus RX450h SUV in the rally which runs from October 11-14, and is organised by the AA, EECA and Gull.

Vehicles compete against each other in eight different categories for the title of the most fuel efficient in each class. The supreme winner is the vehicle that costs the least to run over the entire rally.

Toyota last participated in the rally in 2004 when it claimed the supreme award (and top three places) with two Prius and a Daihatsu Sirion, with the wining Prius driven by Formula One legend Chris Amon.

Toyota is confident of repeating the win in 2010 and have again enlisted the help of Chris Amon, together with motoring journalist Jacqui Madelin, music industry icon Murray Thom, and TV celebrity Marc Ellis. Toyota’s 2010 Energywise Rally programme is being managed by Mark Whittaker director of ecodriver, who will also drive one of the Prius in the rally.

At Toyota we believe in going the extra mile…in the Energywise rally we’ll be doing that literally to highlight the benefits for NZ drivers of over 30 years of hybrid technology development.
